Soliton IT is delighted to announce their latest award for their class-leading application, Radiology+ RIS, at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley serving a population of 1.5 million people. Their radiology service performs nearly 400,000 exams per year from their two acute sites, James Cook Hospital (Middlesbrough) and The Friarage (Northallerton).

In 2019, the Trust identified the need for a replacement RIS, and sought a vendor partner who could both meet the high specification, and offer a forward-thinking approach to the project. Ultimately, the new RIS had to enable the imaging departments to deliver an efficient and reliable core diagnostic reporting service, and the selected vendor had to demonstrate on-going support of this application.

After a competitive procurement process, South Tees opted for Radiology+ from Soliton IT for a variety of winning factors. Radiology+ is a single application covering all workflows – providing a consistent user interface at all times – rather than differing modules for each area of the department. In terms of implementation, Soliton IT’s ability to migrate data (in this case nearly 5 million exams) from the Trust’s legacy RIS to Radiology+, without the need for extracts from the incumbent, will prove beneficial and timely during the deployment phases.

On 9th December 2019, Soliton IT was awarded preferred supplier by the Trust. We welcome South Tees to #TeamSoliton and look forward to starting the deployment of this RIS project.
